The Valdarno area is famous for its unusual landscape with rugged cliffs, the so-called "Balze " . These "Balze" were once the cliffs of a big lake, which have been shaped by erosion into the current very atmospheric "lunar " forms. Leonardo da Vinci was so fascinated by them that he included them in the backgrounds of some celebrated works for instance in the " Virgin of the rocks".
In the hills of the Valdarno, 20 kilometres south-east of Florence, very near to the village of Incisa at 7 km, you will find the settlement of Rio di Luco.
The village of Reggello at 8 km from the house or the village of Incisa at 7 km, offers a wide variety of shops to cover your basic shopping needs: a nice way to get in touch with the friendly people of the region.
Nearby at only 2,5 km in direction of the motorway (exit "INCISA" at only 6 km) there is a characteristic restaurant where guests can enjoy a wide choice of wines and simple Italian dishes.
The bigger supermarkets are in Figline Valdarno, San Giovanni and Montevarchi.
The house is situated on a property of 5 hectars, half of which is planted with Olive trees.
Privacy is guaranteed and there is plenty of opportunity to make long walks in the beautiful surroundings. The house is totally surrounded by nature, therefore the garden offer a lot of privacy.
In the wide garden there are 2 round above-ground-pool, each of 7 m diameter and a smaller heated pool for Jacuzzi- hydromassage.
Covered car parking for 4 cars.

The swimming pool can be used from 1 st June until 30 th September In the garden there are enough tables and chairs to enjoy the outside and the peaceful surroundings.
The property can be reached through a 2,5 km long small road, where the last 500 meters are unasphalted

The house is an old country house, fully restored and refurbished in 1999 with 2 independent heating systems, one for each floor. Simple tuscan decor and furniture has been used: floors in natural terracotta tiles, walls traditionally white-washed. Wooden furniture is all aged in darkened wood, the bedsteads are restored originals mostly in wrought iron. The 3 fireplaces are all functional
Ground floor: covered loggia where guests can eat outside, entrance, living and sitting room with fireplace and Satellite TV and Video Recorder, wide dining room with fireplace and CD Player, big kitchen (oven, fireplace, pizza-oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, boiler) with exit in the garden where there is a big stone table to eat outside, laundry with washing machine, dryer, big freezer and big fridge.
Important staircase to arrive at the first floor: Single room, 2 double bedrooms , bath with shower, bedroom with 3 single beds, bath with shower, master-bedroom with master bathroom with tub.
Second floor : 2 double bedrooms, each of them with private bath with shower In a dependance with entrance from the left side of the house there is at ground floor a kitchen with Fridge, freezer , oven, dish-washer, washing-machine, dryer and a living-room ; at first floor there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 bath with shower.
Luco 2 does not have air conditioning, but Tuscan farmhouses built with walls of over 60 cm thickness ensure that the heat is kept out in summer.
