BORGO DI SOVICILLE

Located among the gently rolling Sienese hills, the nearest towns to Borgo di Sovicille are Sovicille (7km), Rosia (10km), and Colle Val d'Elsa (18km). Other places of interest not to be missed are San Galgano (20km); San Gimignano (24km); Siena (18km) and Florence (40km).

Il Borgodi Sovicille, during the 14th century, was a small hamlet with its own school, bakery and blacksmiths. Today, the original buildings have been immaculately restored by their Swiss-Italian owners to an official 1st category, 4 star rating residence with 13 apartments and 7 independant bedrooms. This characteristic properties with internal first class restaurant retain its original real tuscan character with oak beams, terracotta flooring and open-fires. Each has a telephone, satellite television and radio. A beautiful wine bar and restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with 3 special evenings per week of piano and operatic arias.

The rent of an apartment includes daily buffet breakfast and cleaning of the baths and changing of linen and towels in the middle of the week and at the end of it. Guests may choose an apartment or a double bedroom only to stay at Borgo Il Poggiaccio and have meals in the restaurant on request or may opt for half board service, which is compulsory from 20 July to 24 August 2002.

Il Borgo has a large L- shaped swimming pool (225m2) surrounded by sun-loungers with separate showers/changing rooms. A tennis court, basket ball and mountain bikes are available free of charge. Other services include a small library with foreign newspapers and a shop and boutique. Guests are invited to wine tasting once a week. There are well tended garden areas with pergolas for "al fresco" dining. The restaurant has an outside terrace with shade provided by large sun-umbrellas during hot summer days.

Type E - 4+1 persons approx. 110 sqm
Living-dining room with sofa-bed for one extra guest, Kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 double bedrooms.

Living-dining room with fireplace, kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 3 bathrooms.

Restaurant:
Half board service, costs about 34 Euro per person per day and Euro 21 for children up to 12 year. per day, drinks not included. Half board is compulsory from 20 July to 24 august!

Extra services: (to be paid on departure)
Heating charge and wood for the fireplace, to be paid upon consumption, telephone, fax and E-Mail service, baby bed (price Euro 40 per week) and pets (Euro 30 per week) and eventual extra services.

Further information:
The price includes the weekly rent, cleaning service and changing of linen and towels in the middle and at the end of the week, buffet breakfast, electricity, gas for the kitchen, water, the use of the swimming pool, the tennis court and the mountain bikes. Upon request can be provided a daily cleaning service as well as extra change of linen and towels, to be paid before departure, laundry service, hire of beach towels, baby sitting.

Arrival time 4.00 p.m.- 7.00 p.m. Check out time 10.00 a.m.

Private parking. Please bring training shoes for use at the tennis court.

Breakages deposit of Euro 250 per apart to be paid on arrival.

Cooking courses are regularly organised on the spot.
On request it is possible to organise languange courses or hand craft courses.
Touristic tours in the surroundings are organised upon request, as well as excursions to the Chianti or Montalcino area with visits to cellars.
Dogs are welcome at the cost of Euro 30 per week
