This bed and breakfast is situated on the first floor of an antique Florentine building from the 17th century, in the quarter of „Santa Croce“, one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Florence’s historical centre. It is situated halfway between Piazza del Duomo (Dome Square) e Piazza San Ambrogio (San Ambrogio Square), facing Piazza De Ciompi (De Ciompi Square), where until today there is the traditional antiquities market. „La Locanda“ used to be a very large apartment that was restored in 1999 and transformed into an elegant B&B with 5 rooms: 4 double rooms and 1 single room, each with private bathroom. 3 of the rooms have a splendid view over de Ciompi square and the market.

„La Locanda“ is situated in the pedestrian area, but just in fron there is the bus stop of the electrical bus that circulates in Florence’s historical centre. Many theatres, such as the „Teatro della Pergola“, „Teatro Verdi“, „Teatro dell’Oriolo“, and „Le Murate“ are at walking distance. The Dome, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi museum, Santa Croce, the synagogue and many art galleries are also at walking distance.

At a few steps, there is the San Pierino Arch and there are many shops and places that are typical for Florence: wine merchants, tripe sellers, the „osterie“ and wine bars, the famous restaurant „Pinchiorri“ (one of the best restaurants in Florence and actually in Italy), and the ice cream bar „Vivoli“. It is the ideal place for discovering the old traditions and customs of the Florentines.

This small Bed & Breakfast offers all comforts and essential services, along with a peaceful and familiar atmosphere, in order to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The furnishings of the rooms are accurate into detail: furniture in massive walnut, wrought iron beds, double curtains, parquet flooring, telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning.
