IL POGGIO

Between the villages of San Casciano and Tavarnelle, on a hilltop, one can easily see the medieval castle that used to be the residence of Niccolò Machiavelli. The current owner, the Marquise Rangoni Machiavelli, had not only the castle carefully renovated, but also the nearby rural houses.

One of these rural houses is situated on the other side of the street that leads to the castle. It was completely restored and furnished with taste, and then used as the private house of the family Rangoni Machiavelli during their stay in Tuscany. Later on, the owners moved to the castle and left this fantastic residence to guests and tourists.

The villa has a beautiful stone façade, a private entrance, a private parking area, and a large fenced garden.

In the garden, there is a swimming pool (max. depth 2,40 m) with an irregular shape which offers a panoramic view over the valley.

The nearest village, Bargino, has a little grocery store and is at 1 km distance. San Casciano with many shops, banks, and a pharmacy, is at 5 km. Tavernelle is at 6 km. Florence is at a distance of 25 km and Siena at 40 km.

The villa, situated on a little slope, extends over three floors:
At ground-floor, there is a spacious living-room with fire-place, a reading-room with TV, a large and fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven), a storage room with fridge and freezer, a laundry room with washing machine, a WC, and a dining-room with exit onto a covered terrace that is furnished with chairs and table.
On the first floor, there is a double-room with private bathroom (with bathtub), a twin-bedded room, a double bedroom with an antique bed (relatively high French bed), a little reading room, and a bathroom with bathtub.
At inferior ground floor with independent entrance, there is a small private apartment. It is composed of a living room with kitchen corner and two single sofa beds, one double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower.
